Ellen Allien is one of those artists that is truly in a class all her own. For over two decades, the BPitch Control label boss has defined herself as an innovator, constantly contributing to and progressing the Berlin techno scene and beyond. Earlier this year, she released ‘Nost’, her seventh studio LP, and with any collection this good, a boatload of remixes from the industry’s finest is sure to follow. The first batch of ‘Nost’ remixes sees Emmanuel Top, ROD, K-Hand and Skudge offering unique interpretations of Allien’s latest selection of heaters.

A2. Mind Journey (Rod Remix) 5:32
B1. Call Me (K-Hand Remix) 7:41
B2. Mind Journey (Skudge Remix) 7:52
Emmanuel Top starts the EP off by dipping ‘Call Me’ in acid and taking us on one of the unexpected journeys he has been known for since the 90s. ROD is up next, with a dark, brooding spin on ‘Mind Journey’ that will crawl right under your skin – this will be perfect for the dark corners of any dance floor. Detroit legend K-Hand puts us into a trance with her vision of ‘Call Me’, gradually building layer upon layer and resulting in a classic techno finish. The Swedish duo Skudge offers a deep and creepy remix to ‘Mind Journey’ – and a journey it is. A perfect finish to the EP, it grabs a hold of you and you won’t be able to – or want to – pull yourself away.
Each track stands alone yet the collection remains unified, perfectly marrying the past with the future worlds of techno – we can’t wait until they start melting dance floors around the world. The EP drops September 1, 2017 out on BPitch Control.
